Timing Belt Cover, Easy on/off Mod (Honda)

Gaining access to the timing belt pulley on a D16 motor can be tricky. You must first remove the valve cover to allow room for the lip of the cover to pass through. This is especially aggravating when using an adjustable cam gear. A lot of people leave their belt cover off when running an adjustable gear just to do away with this hassle. It is however not such a good idea to leave the timing belt exposed. Since the D16 motor is an interference engine, if this belt were to break, serious engine damage WILL result. The cover is there to protect the belt from damage, oil, water, and even dust getting into the pulleys and belt can ruin it over time. A quick and simple mod to make removing the cover is to simply remove approximately 1/6? of an inch from the lip of the cover as shown.
